GE Profile UltraFast Combo Washer & Dryer

The GE Profile Combo Washer & Dryer aims to reframe how you think about combo units, using heat pump technology to drive total cycle times down to two hours.

Combo laundry units that wash and dry in the same machine aren't anything new—homes in Europe have been using them (and putting up with subpar performance) for decades. But an innovation from GE Appliances aims to put ease and efficiency into these types of units, while providing a superior laundry day experience.

Enter: the GE Profile UltraFast Combo. Using ventless heat pump technology, the single 4.8-cubic-foot drum (big enough to hold a king-size comforter and then some) both washes and dries a large load in about two hours. That's not only faster than the chore typically takes with two machines, it eliminates the need to transfer between cycles, and the average 130 minutes it takes users to get up and do so. Plus, the SmartHQ app lets you monitor and control on the go, so you're not planning your day around wet clothes.

The unit is set to hit the market in June and retails for $2,899.

Miele PerfectCool PerfectFresh Active Refrigerator

Miele's PerfectFresh technology sprays an ultra-fine water mist into the crisper drawers to increase the longevity of your produce.

We’ve all had those disappointing moments when the perfect strawberries you’ve bought at the market are already mushy and moldy within a day, even after storing them in your refrigerator. Miele's brand-new entry level PerfectCool built-in refrigerators aim to mitigate premature produce rot with its PerfectFresh Active feature, which injects a fine water mist into the refrigerator’s crisper drawer every 90 minutes and enhancing the humidity within.

This is innovative because traditional crisper drawers protect your fruit and vegetables by trapping humid air. Unfortunately, that humidity comes from water that has already escaped your produce. In turn, PerfectFresh Active prevents moisture loss, keeps your produce fresher for longer, and aims to cut your grocery bills by reducing food waste.

Available in spring 2023.

Beko HarvestFresh Refrigerator

Beko HarvestFresh uses changing light signatures in the crisper drawers to help your produce retain vitamins and freshness.

While Miele’s new crisper technology is geared toward a mass premium market, Beko’s brand new HarvestFresh innovation is ready for anyone. Among the most sustainable appliance manufacturers in the world, Beko is well-known and widely used in Europe, but it is new to the American market as of the last half-dozen years.

HarvestFresh, which will be available in 20 Beko models, simulates the 24-hour daylight cycle, all within the fridge’s crisper drawers. How? Why? This technology provides changing light signatures that mimic the progression of daylight to replicate the conditions that your vegetables were grown in and help them retain vitamins and freshness. HarvestFresh begins the day with a blue cycle that mimics cool morning light, followed by a fresh midday green, before finally warming to a lustrous red that simulates the dimming of afternoon and the waning of the day. Finally, the crisper lights turn off at night, letting your veggies rest. The crisper drawer’s light remains on during its cycle, even when your fridge’s door is closed. Not only does this promote vitamin retention, it aims to extend the life of your produce up to 30 days.

We can’t wait to get this in the Reviewed lab to test it out. Launching in the U.S. on April 20, 2023.

Signature Kitchen Suite 48-inch Dual-fuel Pro Range

Credit: Signature Kitchen Suite

This Signature Kitchen Suite 48-inch range features both a sous vide compartment and an induction cooktop surface in addition to standard four gas burners.

This LG-owned premium brand introduces an industry-first with its new 48-inch dual-fuel range and oven that boasts both induction and gas cooking paired with a sous vide well and steam oven. Four gas burners, plus two induction burners that can be unified into one cooking zone, will surely lead to some evenly and precisely cooked food in your future.

To the left of the cooktop, a sous vide well accommodates everything from dozens of eggs to mulled wine to vacuum-sealed meat, and it removes easily for cleaning. Each of the range’s dials feature individual timers and temperature controls, including automatic shutoff for the sous vide.

When it comes to the oven, there are actually two. Both have a blue enamel interior, which can endure much higher temperatures than average ovens. The first, an 18-inch steam oven uses steam and convection cooking, while the adjacent 30-inch oven features settings including Rapid Heat Roast, proofing, convection, and more.

Lastly, we love this range’s smart capabilities, which is no surprise given its LG ties. The front-facing control panel works with LG’s proprietary ThinQ app and not only allows you to control operation from either the panel or your smartphone, it allows you to preload and save favorite recipes so cooking requires simply the touch of one button.

This pro-style range retails for $16,000.

Bertazzoni 48-inch Induction Range in Carbonio Finish

The stunningly beautiful Bertazzoni 48-inch wowed with its textured, black Carbonio finish and surprised with its full embrace of induction cooking technology.

With the shift from dining out to quality home-cooked meals over the last few years, it’s no surprise that more people are interested in premium home cooking options, like this brand new Bertazzoni offering. The respected Italian brand makes no qualms about its $16,000 retail price tag and emphasizes that this is a case of you getting what you pay for.

The 48-inch induction range is the first of its kind at this size under 50 amps (which means it doesn't require anything fancy in an electrical panel), the induction element is both climate-friendly and chef-approved, and the range’s matte graphite finish will stop you in your tracks. Designed as a wow factor, this new color, dubbed Carbonio, does not leave room for stainless steel and features a velvety look and feel—yes, literally. At first glance, the range has an aesthetic that’s somewhere between a contemporary Aston Martin and a cottage-chic wood stove. Yet the range’s glossy top belies just how modern it is.

Slated to go into full production by mid-2023.

Dometic DrawBar

The Dometic DrawBar is a simple, elegant way to add chilled wine storage to any home. It's user-installable and fits in standard drawer openings.

There’s nothing like a perfectly chilled glass of wine, especially when you want one on demand before settling on the couch for a binge-watching session. While we can’t all afford—or have the space for—built-in wine coolers, Dometic’s brand new DrawBar falls within the budget of most people who care about the quality and balance of what they’re drinking.

This five-bottle wine-cooling drawer features precision cooling with five different temperature settings, from 41°F (perfect aperitif-style Champagnes and sparkling wines) all the way up to 63°F (for full-bodied reds like merlot), made via an easy-to-use control panel. It also includes a tray that works to maintain optimal humidity levels.

But what we find to be one of the major perks of the DrawBar is that it fits in a standard 24-inch drawer space within existing cabinetry, and you can easily install it yourself; however, you do need access to a three-prong plug.

DrawBar is available on the market now; $1,099 with custom paneling, or $1,100 with a black glass front.

Empava 12-inch Portable Induction Cooktop

Empava's countertop induction cooktop brings the power and convenience of induction cooking to renters or anyone who can't accommodate a full-installed cooktop.

Appliance manufacturer Empava debuts its portable, 12-inch induction cooktop that’s geared toward a younger, more casual consumer who may live in an apartment, tiny home, or is frequently on the go in an RV, van, or boat. Portable here means that you can pick it up and take it with you, although care is required when doing so.

Despite its size, it doesn’t sacrifice much power, featuring nine power levels and delivering between 100 watts and 1,800 watts, which should be more than enough power to boil stews or sear a fish. While by nature, induction cooktops don’t burn skin, even at high settings, this cooktop comes with a child lock so kids can’t mess around with settings while something is cooking.

This portable induction cooktop is available now on Amazon for around $200.

Brondell's Nebia Corre shower head is made partially from recycled ocean plastics and uses 50% less water than a standard shower head.

Eco-friendly bath products manufacturer Brondell debuts its Nebia Corre four-function shower head at KBIS 2023, and it caught our eye for its water-saving features. Designed to only deploy 1.5 gallons per minute max, it promises to use 50% less water than a standard shower head while at the same time boasting up to 60% more water pressure than EPA WaterSense-compliant models.

Nebia Corre has four spray settings: Angel Hair, Super-Saver, Hard, and Soft; and you can choose between a fixed showerhead and a hand shower fixture with a magnetic mounting dock made partially from recycled ocean plastics, and a 72-inch hose. Both models are designed to be easy to install and require no special tools or plumbing skills.

Available now for $119 for the showerhead and $149 for the handheld.

Toto Neorest LS Smart Bidet Toilet

A beautifully designed toilet in a high-rise bathroom.

Toto's Neorest LS smart bidet toilet is about as elegant and high-tech a bathroom fixture as you can find.

Bidets were gradually becoming more popular in the U.S. over recent years, but the pandemic toilet paper shortage raised interest in these products to a new level. With its latest Neorest LS bidet toilet, Toto has combined advanced features to improve comfort and cleanliness in ways that go way beyond a simple need to replace toilet paper.

An automatic lid, heated seat, and warm air drying make for a luxurious user experience, but it’s the less obvious cleaning tech that makes the Neorest LS stand out. The toilet bowl is coated in a slippery glaze developed using nanotechnology to stop waste from sticking to the surface. The cleaning tech doesn’t stop there. Misting the bowl surface before use maximizes the non-stick effect, and Toto’s swirling Tornado Flush rinses the entire toilet rim and bowl.

Finally, water electrolysis creates a mild cleaning solution to gently disinfect the bowl, bidet sprayer, and underside of the seat after every use. The Neorest LS will be available for purchase in summer 2023.
