A good bath mat is crucial to any bathroom. Not only does it sop up water to prevent slipping, but it also gives your feet a cozy place to land after the shower. So when Ruggable debuted its bath mat collection, we had to see if it checked all our boxes.

Our favorite rug makers at Ruggable are known for machine-washable rugs that are designed in a two-part system. We love Ruggable's floor coverings when it comes to rugs and door mats but would its new bath mats measure up?

Here’s what you need to know about the Ruggable bath mat.

What is Ruggable?

Ruggable makes machine-washable floor coverings, like doormats and rugs. Most notably, Ruggable’s signature two-part rug system features a rug pad that holds the rug in place. Ruggable offers a variety of stylish prints and patterns for its laundry-friendly rugs, doormats, and now bath mats.

Ruggable’s bath mats are composed of the same two-part system. The bath mat pad features Ruggable’s CloudFeel cushioning and ClingEffect technology that helps keep the terry cloth bath mat cover in place.

The bath mat cover can go in both the washer and dryer to make for easy cleaning. Ruggable’s bath mats come in one size: 22 inches by 32 inches.

No more wrinkly or messy mats.

It feels like luxury under your toes

Ruggable’s CloudFeel cushioning materials found in the bottom layer of the bath mat feels like stepping onto a cozy pile of fluff. When I spread out the bath mat for the first time, I was instantly impressed by the bouncy and luxurious feel. First impressions are everything, or so they say, and the Ruggable bath math did not disappoint.

It keeps it shape

There’s nothing worse than a bath mat getting bunched up or slipping underfoot. That wasn’t a fear with the Ruggable bath mat.

The bottom part of the two-part system stays securely in place and doesn’t fold in on itself or move around. The ClingEffect securely holds the bath mat cover in place and I felt confident it wasn’t going anywhere.

It’s highly absorbent and dries quickly, so I didn’t need to hang it up to dry between uses. Water won’t seep through to the bath mat pad and pool water, ensuring that your floors stay dry.

Without a doubt, this is exactly what I want a bath mat to feel like.

There are many different designs for the mat!

While all of the mats are rectangular and 22 inches by 32 inches in size, Ruggable offers a wide variety of designs from classic to contemporary.

Some highlights of the designs are the fun peaches, sweet sayings, and sophisticated monograms.

I went for the Checkered Multicolor bath mat, which felt playful but chic.

The bath mat’s colors aren’t quite as bright in person as they appear on the website; however, it still looks great.

It’s easy to clean

Just like Ruggable’s rugs, washing its bath mat is a piece of cake. It can go in both the washer and dryer, so you can toss it in with your weekly load of towels.

Historically, I’ve found some bath mats surprisingly difficult to clean. Some can’t go in the dryer and need to hang to dry while others will totally fall apart when going through the laundry. It was a relief that Ruggable’s bath mat looked as good as new when it came out of the dryer.

It may not seem like it on the photo, but the mat is surprisingly big.

It’s too big for small spaces

As an apartment dweller, I’m used to living and decorating small spaces. The Ruggable bath mat is too big for my small bathroom as it’s one to two inches taller than other bath mats.

It took me a while to find the right spot for it between the shower, sink, toilet, and bathroom. Since the bath mats don’t come in multiple sizes, be sure to measure your space to ensure it will fit in your bathroom before purchasing.

It’s significantly more money than other great bath mats

While I enjoyed using the Ruggable bath mat, the price was quite jarring at $129 MSRP for the two-part system. The price stuck out to me for two reasons: First, it’s more than I’ve ever spent on a bath mat, and second, it’s higher than market value.

Bath mats typically range from $20 to $60, so even on the higher end, the Ruggable bath mat is double the price of more luxurious options.

Ruggable claims that this bath mat will ensure you’ll never have to toss out a dirty bath mat again.

While we washed the bath mat several times without issues, we can't quite speak to the longevity of repeatedly washing the Ruggable bath mat. However, here at Reviewed, we've always had good luck cleaning Ruggable rugs.

If you do need to replace the top layer of your bath mat, or want to purchase a different style, it will cost you $80.

Should you buy the Ruggable bath mat?

Yes, but it’s luxury at a price

Using the Ruggable bath mat in my home had me feeling like I was at the spa, with its cloud-like cushioning welcoming me out of the shower. With its innovative two-part system, as well as the pretty bath mat cover designs, the Ruggable bath mat is an excellent product.

However, if you can’t come around to the price, there are plenty of other great options on the market. Our favorite bath mat comes from Frontgate and is about $45. While it doesn’t come in trendy patterns, it is offered in a variety of colors plus it is washer- and dryer-riendly.

If you’re looking for a bath mat that is better suited for small spaces, our best value pick is from H.Versailtex and comes in a 17-inch by 24-inch option that will keep your floors dry, but won’t crowd the space.

Despite its steep price tag, the Ruggable bath mat is a great choice for its assortment of classic and trendy designs, lavish feel, and innovative design.
